pls someone tell me how to fix this. so the 9 key on my macbook is stuck down after i took it off cause it was mushy, i placed it back on but i think part of the keycap broke cause its stuck in the down position. it still fuctions, but its kinda like the touchbar, if it helps the modes is a 2020 macbook pro M1 touchbar. pls help

Posted on:If the 9 key on your 2020 MacBook Pro is stuck after you tried to fix it, odds are the plastic scissor mechanism or keycap is damaged or misaligned. Gently pry the keycap off again using something thin (like a guitar pick), and check if the little white hinge underneath is broken or out of place.
Posted on:If it’s just loose, carefully snap it back into its clips on both the metal base and the keycap, then press the cap back on. If the plastic is actually broken, you’ll need to order a replacement keycap and scissor for your exact model (check eBay or ReplacementLaptopKeys.com), because there’s no good DIY fix for shattered parts. Don’t try to glue or force anything; Apple keys are notoriously delicate and easy to wreck further.
