i have a non-binary friend who goes by he/him or they/them pronouns and i use those when talking to him or about him to friends but i misgender him when talking about him to my host family here because i've been doing it for 6 months and it would lowkey be awkward if i stop now. feel bad for it though :(

hi i'm non-binary too! in this scenario, I would let them know about your mistake and ask what they would prefer - if you can't do that, then change the pronouns you're using in the spaces you're misgendering him in and when questioned about it, just explain that you were using the wrong pronouns and are correcting yourself from now on out. <3
