Think of the follow feature like bookmarks. If you want to follow certain posts then follow them. Your device will save the ids to those secrets in your local storage. Nothing is saved on the servers. Only you will know which secrets you are following. The next time you visit the site will check to see if you have any secret id's on your device and display those for you under the follow tab.
