Secret #4607

I’m 28, and I’m still scared of marriage. I’ve never been able to stay with someone for more than six months. I usually end up ghosting them for no real reason, or I start hating them over the smallest mistake, flaw, or even an idea I have about them.

It always follows the same pattern: at first, I put them on a pedestal and develop a huge crush on them. Then, over time, my feelings become more and more intense until something suddenly changes. I start noticing everything I dislike about them, the attraction disappears, and eventually I break up with them or ghost them.

The strangest part is that I’ve never really felt sad or heartbroken after losing someone. I usually just feel relieved.

And honestly, that’s what scares me the most. I don’t understand why I keep repeating this pattern, and I’m starting to wonder if I’m actually afraid of marriage—or if I’m afraid of getting close to someone and staying emotionally connected to them.

please talk to a therapist. you are clearly very complex when it comes to relationships and the only way to navigate these feelings is to talk to someone who is an expert in this.
